Joomla 1.5 Installation Guide
Joomla Tutorial Series This series is the first of a series of tutorials Joomla 1.5 which I had planned. The reason, because I’m learning joomla and also manage a website with joomla.
Joomla which we discuss here is the latest stable version, version 1.5.x. Small X in this version represents a minor release number, usually a patch or repair feature. When this tutorial was written, the score was a 2. So, should you use joomla lastest version 1.5.x.
What is Joomla!?

Joomla! is a free open source framework and content publishing system designed for quickly creating highly interactive multi-language Web sites, online communities, media portals, blogs and eCommerce applications.
Joomla! provides an easy-to-use graphical user interface that simplifies the management and publishing of large volumes of content including HTML, documents, and rich media.
Joomla! is used by organizations of all sizes for Public Web sites, Intranets, and Extranets and is supported by a community of thousands of users.
Thus, it is a cms joomla smart, which can be anything, depending on you. Although versatile, joomla power will be seen when we use it for content publishing system for websites.
As a blog when compared in terms of comfort, more convenient to use than joomla wordpress as a blog engine.
How To Install Joomla
Before you start using joomla, you must first install joomla. Before installing joomla youwill need:
1. Apache server.
Better yet, if the server supports the rewrite module, and others who support joomla performance.
2. MySQL database.
MySQL is a database optimized for joomla. Other databases could be used, but requires extra setup.
3. Copy joomla installation package.
Joomla.org download from the site if you do not have.
If you already have a website and hosting his own (commercial), you can use the tool to install joomla fantastico. Only, you will not benefit much from this installation tutorial.
Next, open the phpmyadmin access the page (if you’re using XAMPP, access via http://localhost/phpmyadmin address.). Create a new database. In the example, I use the nameltguide.
Installing Joomla
I installed joomla on my local webserver. I use XAMPP. For the needs of this tutorial, I extract the installer package in the directory lomboktravelguide joomla.
To begin, please open your firefox browser and access http://localhost/lomboktravelguide.
Step One. Choosing Language Installation
You will be asked to select the appropriate installation language your preferences.
The second step is to check your server’s ability.
In the picture, all requirements are met, marked with green writing. If there is one of the requirements that were red, please correct. Suppose parameters GLOBALS php register his on, you open your php.ini and change to off.
The third step is to agree to license the use joomla.

The fourth step is to configure the database.

One other thing is, in advanced mode, you can choose the table prefix to be used. This is useful for you to have a web server with the database that allowed limited. You can use a different prefix for different CMS installations on the same database, not just joomla.
The fifth step is to configure the FTP Layer.
FTP layer is the ability to set permissions joomla files in the installation itself. This is important, for example, to protect the configuration files or other file management. Enter your username and password accordingly. Before continuing, you should first test whether the ftp connection is correct and connectioncan be done or not by clicking the “Verify FTP Settings”.

The sixth step is to configure your website.
Enter your site name, admin password that you want and email will be used for administration.
Do not forget, if you are not expert at all and had no idea what your website later, you should install the default sample data first.
Please click the “Install Sample Data” before continuing.
Finish!, Congratulations you have a new website with joomla as its engine.
If you want to access your site administration, you can access it at
http://localhost/instalasi_joomla/administrator.
While your website can be accessed at http://localhost/instalasi_joomla. Previously, make sure you change the configuration.php file in the root directory of your installation to be read only. Furthermore, you should remove the installation directory, not just to rename it.
